Using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy When Working with Teens
Friday, January 22 2010, 9:00am - 12:00pm

Looking for strengths, exceptions and goals (for therapy and those teens view as personally meaningful, yet perhaps not relevant to therapy) and small steps of progress toward them is crucial to establishing a working rapport with teens. The art of listening without prejudice and looking at how apparently dysfunctional behavior may be functional for the teen can play a big part in therapy proving to be useful to this special category of client.

Tom Lee, LCSW, LPC, LMFT has over 28 years of direct clinical experience. He has been using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy for over 20 years and has applied this model in psychiatric hospitals, day treatment centers, not-for-profit organizations, and private clinics.
