Assistant Commissioner of Child Protective Services with the Texas Department of Family Protective Services, Kristene Blackstone, wrote a letter of appreciation to our state's foster parents.
The excerpt below shares Blackstone's gratefulness for these amazing people who selflessly give their time to caring for our children in foster care.
I would like to personally thank you for your time and dedication to caring for the vulnerable children of Texas. As of August 31, 2015, over 16,000 children were in foster care in the State of Texas. The commitment that you have made as foster parents is not always easy and can be demanding and emotional. However, you make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth in this state. ...The State of Texas is very fortunate to have so many loving foster parents who are willing to provide a safe place for those who are unable to live with their families.
