Fact: In Tarrant County alone, more than 6,000 children are victims of abuse each year.

Fact: The rate of child abuse and neglect in Texas and Tarrant County is increasing at a faster rate than ACH is currently able to respond.

Fact: Additionally, Tarrant County’s population is one of the fastest growing in the country, with growth projections surpassing Dallas County in just two decades.

To us, this forecast means ACH Child and Family Services must continue to serve children and families who need our help, and expand to meet our community’s growing needs.

In the last six years, ACH has significantly expanded services and developed new programs for meeting the needs of children and families in crisis. ACH operates in one of the fastest growing regions in the country and some projections show the population of Tarrant County surpassing the population of Dallas County by the year 2030. Currently, in Tarrant County alone, over 6,000 children annually are confirmed victims of abuse and over 50,000 children live in poverty. These numbers are expected to increase as the population grows.

The board and staff of ACH recognize these trends and have been working hard to build on current strengths to respond to the future needs of children and families. A generous gift of 19.5 acres and nine buildings located in Fort Worth by philanthropists Valerie and Michael Mallick propelled this vision forward.

With an expansion location determined, ACH is now embarking on a two-phased approach to relocate and expand its base of operations. ACH will renovate the new property and consolidate all operations, with the exceptions of the Wedgwood Residential Program and outlying county satellite offices, to this new campus—the Wichita Street Campus.

For tomorrow’s children, youth and families to receive the help they need, ACH Child & Family Services needs the help of generous individuals and organizations with a heart for children and families. Gifts from the community are vital to ACH’s ability to serve those most in need.

ACH is currently seeking $9.5 million from the community for the completion of the first phase of the Home Improvements Campaign. Please consider investing in rebuilding futures for children and families.
